Alvin and the Chipmunks : The Squeakquel by Rebecca Mason [December 2009]
Cutesy, funny & moralistic fun for all the family. Alvin and the Chipmunks : The Squeakquel is a sequel our children have long been waiting for. Having received Hoyts vouchers as a family gift for Christmas, the children were unified in their choice of how to utilise their gift. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the sequel and whilst somewhat predictable, it was a relief that as a parent there wasn't a moment I had to cringe relating to any inappropriate content. We all thoroughly enjoyed meeting "The Chipettes", the friendly & sometimes romantic rivalry between "The Chipettes" and "The Chipmunks", the novelty of the Chipmunks going to school and their responses to peer pressure & bullies. The 'geeky' accidental guardian, Toby played by Zachary Levi, was light entertainment, as was resident bad guy, Ian played by David Cross. Wholesome family entertainment - definately worth taking the kids! Official Website for Alvin and the Chipmunks
